THE DESIGN ENSEMBLE
Bonded by a passion for color, texture and truism, Erica Zander Meier, along with her father Doug Zander and their team of designers are an unconventional family, characterized by clever elegance, sophisticated style and active imagination. A collaborative group of minds with years and years of combined time working together, this team has carved out Zander’s unique niche in the Madison interior design community, and they’re ready to enhance your home with their signature attention to detail.
Although they comprise a close team, each designer’s distinct personality and source of inspiration allows for a perfect system of checks and balances, of skills and expertise, of innovative ideas and creative executions. And together, they produce endlessly unique results. Here is a bit about each of them:
Over thirty-five years ago, one man decided to live colorfully, inspired by functional and stylish décor. From his college years as a student in elemental design, Doug Zander’s early interest in the design industry gained him experience and expertise. Ambition and dedication drove him gradually and distinctly down the road to forming his own company. Zander’s Interiors is a product of his vision, resting on a solid foundation of passion for design. Doug is proud to continue his legacy through daughter Erica Zander Meier who became the new owner of Zander’s Interiors in 2019. He looks forward to enjoying partial retirement while contributing to the future of Zander’s Interior in Madison and beyond.
“I didn’t create Zander’s. Zander’s created itself. It was a natural product of my own desire to compose personalized projects for individual clients. My process of hand-selecting and cultivating creative, inspired minds happened over a long period of time, as I carefully surrounded myself with the best of emerging designers.”
“Every client is so different and I enjoy getting to know them and providing them with a unique space and design. I stay up to date with trade magazines, designers, and the latest styles. Fashion is a big influence for me as well. I have even been known to pick up finds at flea markets when I see just the right thing for my client.”
“Book keeping wasn’t my initial interest but I grew to love it. I also find working for a small company to be something I truly value. As a recently married couple, my husband (Chris), dog (Axle) and I love to go to visit the lakes and outdoors of Vilas County where I’m originally from, hike, travel, see movies, dine out and much more.”
“My love for design started at a very young age, growing up around the building industry I was always interested in reading blue prints and critiquing floor plans. I love to challenge myself with design – whether that be with color, texture, pattern, or space planning. I love being able to come up with unique and creative solutions to all design dilemmas.”
